I have mine saved with a transparent background as a formatted AutoCorrect entry.
If you use a special font or signature generator to create a signature, you can save that, as well, as an AutoText or AutoCorrect entry.

Thank you, Mia!!!
Dear respected Steve,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
Based on the description, we do understand your concern to convert a typed name into a signature so it can be inserted to Microsoft Word. In this situation, we have to convey that Word can only provide users the ability to insert a crop picture into a document. For reference: Insert a signature - Microsoft Support
For the demand of converting, I have found there are some Signature Generator which can achieve it. But since Microsoft moderators here are not allowed to share third-party links here, you may need to search online with the keywords. Meanwhile, keep an eye on the legality.
Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.
Sincerely,
