Can I install and run SQL Server 2016 or 2017 on an older Dell r730/740 running Windows Server 2012 R2 ?

I am trying to re-use some older servers to house some management software for an upcoming project. I have a few Dell r730s and r740 servers. I have Windows Server 2012 R2 installed on them. I am just curious if I am able to install and run SQL Server 2016 or 2017 on the servers. Thanks!
