How do I get Forms to populate the data to a live Excel document on Sharepoint rather than a static one that I need to re-download after newsubmissions?

I'm looking to find a way to tie Forms to a 'living' Excel document. My challenge right now is that I'm looking to continuously review submissions from Forms throughout the year; however, in order to collect these I need to redownload the newest excel document that it spits out.

Ideally I'd love for a way to have this Excel document living in Sharepoint and get automatically updated as a new response is logged.

Is there anyway to do this?

    Hi jm123_040,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

Here are two ways that can achieve your needs (for the new form with a live Excel workbook).

    Method 1:

    1. Go to https://forms.office.com/ and log into your business account.
    2. Under "My groups", click "Show more", find the Microsoft 365 group associated with the SharePoint site, click the group, then click "New Group Form". The group form is associated with a live Excel workbook by default.

    Method 2:

    1. Go to the related SharePoint site and go to the library.
    2. Create a new Excel workbook and open it in the browser.
    3. Click the "Insert" tab, Forms, New Form. Please note that the form name will be the same as the workbook name.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

I have had the same issue. I noticed that the excel document that is present under "responses" will populate in TEAMS if you move your form into that group. Here's what I did:

    1. I moved my form into a group in sharepoint.
    2. I opened TEAMS and found that group.
    3. Click on the group in TEAMS, go to 'General' and then click the 'Files' button, and then click 'Documents.'
    4. The excel should live there. Click on the ellipses out to right and click "copy link."
    5. Go back to your Web page that you want the excel to live in and click edit.
    6. Add a new web part and choose 'link'. Then just paste the link in there and save it.
