Microsoft recommends using Outlook 2016 or later versions for the best experience with Exchange Online. However, you can try the following steps to add your Exchange Online email account to Outlook 2013:
- Open Outlook 2013 and click on File > Add Account.
- Enter your email address and click on Connect.
- Enter your password and click on OK.
- If prompted, enter your username and password again and click on OK.
- Outlook will try to connect to your Exchange Online account. If it fails, click on the Manual setup or additional server types option.
- Select Microsoft Exchange Server or compatible service and click on Next.
- Enter the following information:
- Server: outlook.office365.com
- User Name: your email address
- Password: your password
- Click on More Settings and select the Connection tab.
- Check the box for Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP and click on Exchange Proxy Settings.
- Enter the following information:
- Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange: outlook.office365.com
- Check the box for Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate and enter: msstd:outlook.com
- Select Basic Authentication for the Proxy authentication settings.
- Click on OK and then Next.
- Outlook will test the connection to your Exchange Online account. If successful, click on Finish.
