How do I download a MS planner project to the desktop in a file?

I understand your requirement, but we can only use Microsoft Planner (https://tasks.office.com) on a browser in a Windows and macOS. Planner app is only available for download on iPhone and Android phones. Existing users can access Planner through both the web and mobile experiences.

Personally, I completely agree with you, this is indeed a good addition Planner. We request you consider sending your feedback to Planner Feedback Portaland let the related team know about your requirement. This is the best platform to let related team hear from you and make the products and services better for you and others. I found two posts in Feedback portal where customers have requested the same feature. You can vote and provide your feedback in the following post.

I understand you want to save a Microsoft planner Project as an MPP file. I'm Sorry and I'm afraid, unfortunately, currently we cannot export to an MPP file.

We feel your pain due to this limitation and we’re really feel sorry for it. Firstly, please accept my apologize. However, we appreciate your understanding.  I do understand the inconvenience and apologize for it.

Personally, I completely agree with you, this is indeed a good addition to the current features of Microsoft Office 365 application.

Meanwhile, as Microsoft get their attention is through the feedback mechanisms and Microsoft roll out feature requested from Microsoft 365 customers. I recommended you may also let your valuable Future request t0 product developer related Team through the feedback mechanisms.

We can expect this feature to be used in the future.

I am not Miguel Muñoz3.

I also didn't ask if I could download the application.

I asked if I could download a plan made within the application.

This is possible in numerous other PM programs.

I have tried exporting to an excel file, but this totally useless as it downloads each task without keeping any date ranges, among other things which are either lost or mangled enough to make this not a viable option.

I would indeed have more patience if it appeared that anyone even read my query

This clearly seems to me that I am not asking to download the app to a desktop.. And I clearly say what the aim of trying to download a plan or project.

Although the fact that a planner app can't do any kind of timeline or Gantt chart or overall calendar view is another matter .
