I followed the prompts to start using the new Stream (Sharepoint) and have run into a problem. The option to trim / edit videos have disappeared. I've reviewed all the articles I can find, and nothing says that this feature has been removed so what am I doing wrong? Please help!

    Dear Andrew Yeager-Buckley,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand you want to trim video in new Stream (SharePoint).

Very sorry to convey that this feature is not available in new Stream (SharePoint). I deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

If you are willing, you may download the video and then use other video editing software to trim video, and then re-upload it to Stream.

Personally, I could understand your concern and I completely agree with you. It would be definitely ideal if we could trim video in new Stream (SharePoint). Thank you for bringing thing to our attention.

Actually, other community members noticed this situation as well and they created some ideas in Stream Feedback Community. I sincerely recommend you vote for them and keep a close eye on them.

its been more than 12 months when users gave you feedback, how long and how many votes you need to bring back a perfectly fine feature that was working.

Just an FYI ... I've been using the Photos app in Windows for several years to trim or split recordings before uploading them to Stream. It works well!

The entire University that I work for also agrees with this. Removing this feature to force the purchase, use, or download of separate editing software is not only lazy but greedy. Simple edits to the start or end of a video is not a lot to ask, especially if it was a feature that was available in the earlier version. Otherwise the university will follow the path that professors are already doing, simply move away from using Teams for any class meetings or recordings. Without the forcing of remote courses, Microsoft should realize that this shift will not be difficult. If professors move to other platforms, then the university cannot continue to justify continuing to pay for purchasing Microsoft products for every computer/person/class.
