OneDrive on my iPhone will not display TIF images. It shows thumbnails for TIF files but when I click a thumbnail to view the whole image, it only displays a black or white screen. OneDrive on the Web from a Windows desktop works fine with TIF.Does OneDrive for Android also not work with TIF images?

I do not understand the benefit of restricting the ability to easily view Tif images in OneDrive for iPhone.

I can download Tif images using OneDrive, I can view them Offline using OneDrive, I can save them to my Iphone's Photo Album using OneDrive. I just can't view them conveniently from within OneDrive the way I can with other image formats.

My iPhone seems to fully support Tif images, as do most, maybe all, IOS devices. What is Microsoft gaining by imposing this seemingly arbitrary limitation?

OneDrive for iPhone does support TIF images, but there may be some compatibility issues with certain TIF files. It's possible that the TIF files you are trying to view on your iPhone are not compatible with the OneDrive app. However, OneDrive for Android should be able to display TIF images without any issues. If you continue to experience problems with viewing TIF files on your iPhone, you may want to try converting the files to a different format or contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hi billbremer,

Thanks for writing us here in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are having issues with viewing TIF images with OneDrive on your iPhone. I checked it in my end and it appears that we are experiencing the same.

With that being said, I expanded my research and exhausted all my resources to get the answer to this question. Unfortunately, OneDrive for iPhone does not support TIF images at the moment. This means that you cannot upload or view TIF images on your iPhone using OneDrive. The reason for this limitation is that TIF images are not widely supported by iOS devices and apps. iOS prefers JPEG or PNG formats for images, which are more compatible and efficient. Therefore, OneDrive for iPhone follows the same preference that iOS prefer and does not support TIF images. However, OneDrive for Android should be able to display TIF images without any issues.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We are always working to improve our app and add more features and functionality. We appreciate your feedback and suggestions on how to make OneDrive for iPhone better. Thank you so much for using OneDrive.

    Hope you understand.

    Sincerely,

    Froilance T.
