When trying to print an envelope to word it won't go to the printer, it is trying to save as a PDF

I have always used Word to print envelopes. I go to a word document, select mailings and choose envelope. I add the address and select print. It would normally go to my printer and print the envelope. Now, since last week, when I select print, it appears to try to save as a pdf file, asking me to name it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I must note that I am able to print other word documents and pdfs without issue, it is only envelopes I am having trouble with.

    Hi Jill R,

Thank you for reaching out. My name is Leo, a user just like you. I'd be happy to help you with your concern.

May I know which Microsoft Office version you are currently using? Could you also specify the changes that were made that might be causing the issue? It seems that your printing option is set to save as PDF or PDF creator. When you try to print, may I know if the "Save as" option pops up instead of the printing settings? For this, I recommend trying to follow the steps provided by a community user, "Jeeped." The user stated, "Check your Devices and Printers from the Windows Start command. If you have a hard copy (e.g. paper) printer you wish to use, right-click and set it as the default printer. Reopening Word should have this printer set as the new default. Once you get this sorted out, you may want to retrace your steps and delete the print-to-file copies you created earlier."

I hope this will work for you, in case the issue still persists, please don't hesitate to let us know. We the community users are always here to help. Thank you!

I pulled the above information from Official Microsoft Support website. For reference, here's the link below:

    Best Regards,

    Leo

Thank you so much Leo. That worked perfectly. I guess somehow microsoft was managing my printer settings. When I switched the printer to default, I was able to print to envelopes. I have not clue how this setting got changed. I am super grateful for your help. :)
