We have two computers linked to one account. One computer is used by person A and the other by person B. The files for each computer need to be kept separate when backed up. Right now all files back up together and end up on both computers. Is there a way to keep the files for computer A separate from computer B when backed up.

    Hello,

You can make it so that the files for Person A will be backed up to the "Person A" folder on OneDrive and synced only to the computer used by Person A. Similarly, the files for Person B will be backed up to the "Person B" folder on OneDrive and synced only to the computer used by Person B. You will need to setup separate folders or directories for each person on OneDrive and then configuring the backup settings accordingly.

    1. Create Separate Folders:
      • Log in to your OneDrive account.
      • Create two separate folders, for example, "Person A" and "Person B."
    2. Move Files to Respective Folders:
      • Organize the files on each computer and move them into their corresponding folders (Person A files go into "Person A" folder, and Person B files go into "Person B" folder).
    3. Configure OneDrive Backup Settings:
      • On each computer, right-click on the OneDrive icon in the system tray (bottom right corner) and select "Settings."
      • Go to the "Backup" tab.
      • Click on "Manage backup" and make sure only the respective folder (Person A or Person B) is selected for backup on each computer.
    4. Sync Settings:
      • In the "Settings" tab, check the sync settings. Ensure that the folders you've chosen for each person are set to sync only to their respective computers.

Try this out and let me know how it goes.

Microsoft accounts are not designed to be shared by multiple persons. However, the files can indeed be shared.
