Recently ran into this problem. Whenever i open any MS Office software, This message appears: "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office 16\EXCEL.EXE'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." (Same for Word and Powerpoint) MS Office is not showing on in Control panel either. Only 365 is still working. Is it because of the Windows 11, version 23H2 update? What to do?

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Microsoft Office software. This error message usually appears when the Office application is unable to locate the executable file. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Repair Office: You can try repairing your Office installation by going to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Microsoft Office > Change > Repair. This will repair any corrupted files and may resolve the issue.
    2. Reinstall Office: If repairing Office doesn't work, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling Office. To do this, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Microsoft Office > Uninstall. Once uninstalled, you can download and reinstall Office from your Microsoft account.
    3. Check for Windows updates: It's possible that the issue is caused by a Windows update. Make sure your Windows is up to date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

If none of these steps work, please contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

Hi Ruvaid, sorry for the confusion if your Office is not showing in Control Panel, go to Services & Subscriptions of the Microsoft Account that you used to setup your Office with a Product Key. Here is a direct link: https://account.microsoft.com/services  sign in with same Microsoft Account.

Tip: if you go to the top right hand side of this forum and click on your name/avatar>My Microsoft Account>Services & Subscriptions, you should see an install link for your Office.

Go to your Microsoft account online, click on Services & Subscriptions, locate your Office 2016 listing, and reinstall it from there.
