    Hello! ArnoldRoth

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

If Windows Defender is blocking the .DLL file, it may be because it has been flagged as a potential threat. You can try adding an exclusion for the file in Windows Defender to allow it to run. Here's how:

    1. Open Windows Security by clicking on the shield icon in the taskbar or by searching for it in the Start menu.
    2. Click on "Virus & threat protection" in the left-hand menu.
    3. Under "Exclusions," click on "Add or remove exclusions."
    4. Click on "Add an exclusion" and select "File."
    5. Browse to the location of the .DLL file and select it.
    6. Click "Open" to add the exclusion.

Once you've added the exclusion, try running the program again. I hope this helps!

    Thank you,

Sorry. The add exclusion tab was another level down. I found it and tried to follow the instructions there. However, it called out the file I was supposed to find and I could not find it. What do I do next?

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your reply, however I don't see the exclusions title you mention. What I see are:

    Current threats

    Virus & threat protection settings

    V.......... updates

    Ransomware protection.

    What am I missing?

Thanks. It turns out that this problem was related to a configuration problem with Windows. It's all been solved.

I would suggest contacting the live support for them to further assist you with this issue as they have the necessary tools to isolate your concern. You can contact them through here: Contact Us - Microsoft Support

    1. Select one category (Example: Choose Microsoft 365) and select Get home Support for consumer.
    2. Type your issue on search bar then select Get Help. Once the search results shows up, select Contact support at the bottom.
    3. Select the product and the Category of the issue that you wanted help with.
    4. You’ll now be asked to either get a Chat or Call support. Please take note that Phone Support is exclusively for active Microsoft 365 subscribers only.

Once you are with a live support they will ask you for your email address for them to verify this in their tools for them to check your service, subscription and account details. Once they have verified your account you may then provide your concern to them.
