Windows 11 [ :( ], Office 365. Among the numerous reasons why I hate W11 is that displayed text from internet is often in such light color that it is hard to read. How can I make it black. I can find plenty of info about dark mode, themes, accent color (whatever that is), and on and on. Getting legible text online is not mentioned.

    Hi Sonntagsforscher,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconveniences,

Cited from the article https://www.windowsdigitals.com/make-text-darker-easier-to-read-windows-11/ "- Use ClearType to adjust the text clarity and contrast. ClearType is a feature that smooths the edges of text and makes it sharper on LCD monitors. To use ClearType, follow these steps: - Search for "ClearType" via Start and select "Adjust ClearType text" from the search result. - In the ClearType Text Tuner window, click the "Turn on ClearType" checkbox to enable ClearType, then click Next. - Follow the instructions on the screen to choose the text sample that looks best to you on each screen. - Click Finish to save the changes."

Cited from the article https://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-11/how-to-enable-and-customize-dark-mode-in-windows-11/ "- Use dark mode to change the color scheme of Windows 11 and apps. • Use contrast themes to enhance the visibility and readability of text and elements. Contrast themes are a feature that applies high-contrast colors and styles to Windows 11 and apps. They are especially useful for users with vision impairments (like light sensitivity). To use contrast themes, follow these steps:
      • Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
      • Click Accessibility.
      • Click the Contrast themes drop-down menu.
      • Choose a dark theme.
      • Press Apply.
    • Use Magnifier to zoom in and out of text and images. Magnifier is a feature that enlarges the screen or a portion of the screen to make it easier to see. You can use Magnifier with different modes, such as full-screen, lens, or docked. To use Magnifier, follow these steps:
      • Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
      • Click Accessibility.
      • Click Magnifier.
      • Turn on the Magnifier toggle switch.
      • Choose a mode and a zoom level that suits your needs.
      • Use the keyboard shortcuts to control Magnifier, such as Windows key + Plus (+) to zoom in, Windows key + Minus (-) to zoom out, or Windows key + Esc to exit.

Thanks, Sola. I am swamped with work today and tomorrow and it will be several days before I can get to work on Clear Type, but it sounds like that may solve my problem. I will let you know.

BTW, is Sola the Yoruba name Ṣola?
