    Hello Charan V,

I'm Segunfunmi, an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you. Thank you for posting your query in this forum.

I am sorry you are having trouble with your Microsoft Office 2010 activation. I understand this can be frustrating, and I am here to help you resolve this issue.

Please know that you are not alone in this, and I am here to guide you through some steps that can help you fix the 'Product Activation Failed' error.

Let's work through this together. Here are some steps that you can take to resolve the issue:

    • Check Your Subscription: Ensure your subscription is active.
    • Sign in with the Correct Account: Ensure you're signed in with the account you used to buy Office.
    • Update Your Office Apps: Ensure that Microsoft Word, Excel, or any other app is up-to-date.
    • Check Your System Date: Make sure the date on your device is correct.
    • Use a Genuine Copy of Windows: Confirm that you have a genuine copy of Windows installed on your computer.
    • Don't Use a Cracked Version of Microsoft Office Apps: Always purchase the subscription from Microsoft's website or its trusted partners.
    • Run the Office application as an administrator: Type the app name in Windows Search, right-click its icon, and click Run as administrator.
    • Run the OSPREARM.EXE file: Go to the following path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16. Locate the OSPREARM.EXE file. Right-click on it and hit Run as administrator.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Kind Regards, Segunfunmi.

Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and verify that you can access your subscription info and that your subscription is current. In Office applications, ensure that you are signed in with the correct account.

If you see multiple versions of Office in Installed Apps (Windows Settings), you should be able to uninstall any version for which you do not have a license.

    Hi Segunfunmi,

Thank you for all the details, I have checked they are looking correct except the last one in Microsoft Office\Office16, in my PC I have it as Office14 and can't find the file you referred, is there something missing, it was working very well up to last week without any issues, all of a sudden this error is appearing.

    Best regards

    Charan

Which version of Office is the one you want to use? For example, do you have a license for a subscription (Microsoft 365)?

Or do you have some other perpetual license, such as Office 2019 or Office 2021?

Microsoft 365 subscription, it seems somehow (mostly accidentally) older version of Office is installed and confusing things when using.
