I am literally tearing my hair out!!! I cannot get my hotmail to send from one laptop (a new surface studio one that has had outlook installed) but it still goes from my old laptop

I have bought a new Microsoft Surface Studio 2 Laptop and have installed Microsoft 365 with two work email addresses (domains on Go Daddy/Wix). I have two MS 365 products, one is a Personal subscription for my Hotmail account and one is Business 365 for my work emails.

My personal Hotmail is installed underneath the two work addresses in the same outlook- I have always been able to see them both in the same outlook and to deal with personal and work emails each day. Obviously they are using two different exchange servers. The main account is Hotmail as it will not let me set up the outlook with the GoDaddy/work emails as the main account.

None of this has ever been a problem on my old laptop until I bought a new laptop on monday and set it all up. Hotmail can receive emails but cannot send AT ALL. My old laptop is still set up and I can still send from hotmail no problem from that device and from my iphone just not from this new laptop.

I have spent hours and hours on this. I have now changed folder permissions on hotmail "folder properties" to "owner" and have tried to update Offline Global Address List but when I tried to download it to do that on send and receive it says:

Unexpected reported error "0X80190194"

SO basically I cannot use my hotmail AT ALL.

Also a big issue with my work email address, it will not deliver to some peoples inboxes anymore - like it is hitting spam walls or something where it literally won't even go in their spam it just won't deliver at all! and I get this message:

    Hi there

    I already have it all set up, just as you show, all 3 are there, all work apart from sending out messages from hotmail they fail (but they come in).

    I can’t even delete the hotmail to reinstall as it won’t delete “the primary account”. It says you have to delete the work ones first which I did but then it says it needs to set up a data file inbox

    Lets determine the fundamentals are correct first.

    The way to add an email account in Outlook is fairly simple.

    For Microsoft365 business basic/standard/premium -

    If everything is correct it should prompt you for password, and if you have setup MFA, you should also get a authenticator prompt.

    Once that is done your account should be up.

    You can see Outlook has started syncing my online mailbox

    Let me know if that is the case for you.

    I actually deleted this account from my outlook and added it again to get you these screen shots.

    Do you think it will rectify itself in 48 hours when the offline global address list reboots? As I did change the permissions folder to owner earlier today (it was set to none) but it still didn’t work despite me closing down outlook and my pc and re opening to refresh the account. I have seen some threads on the forums saying it’s the offline global address list that doesn’t refresh for 48 hours. I tried to follow instructions to do it manually but it failed

    John Lewis tech support set it up as I don’t have an IT dept being self employed. I set it up myself on my last laptop so I am unsure how they can get it so wrong, I took it back today and they basically said it’s beyond their remit!

    I have Microsoft personal 365 for the Hotmail and Microsoft 365 Online Business Essentials for my two work emails

    My old laptop has all 3 emails set up in one outlook, under the Hotmail as primary so think it’s coming from the personal 365 subscription.

    I have the old outlook version as I hate the new! Plus the version that gives you the Add-in tab to link my database that pulls through emails

    Hope this sets the scene!

    Both laptops seem to be set up the same but they can’t be!

    Can I understand what version of Microsoft365 do you have and who helped you set it up on your new machine?

    Outlook can work with multiple email accounts. I have hotmail, gmail and 2 Microsoft365 business accounts connected.

    So we probably need to see how you actually setup your Outlook accounts and see if that configuration is done properly.
