A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Hello Leila S,
I'm Segunfunmi, an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you. Thank you for posting your query in this forum.
I understand that you are having trouble removing highlighting from your Word document. There are a few methods that you can try to get rid of the highlighting.
One way is to select the text you want to remove highlighting from and go to the Home tab. Then, click the arrow next to Text Highlight Color and choose "No Color" from the drop-down menu.
Another option is to use the Find and Replace feature. Open the "Find and Replace" dialog box by clicking on "Home" and then "Replace". Ensure that the "Replace" tab is selected. Place your cursor in the "Find what" text box and click "More". Then, click on "Format" and choose "Highlight". Place your cursor in the "Replace with" text box and repeat the previous step. Finally, click "Replace All".
If the issue is due to shading rather than highlighting, select the text in shading and click on "Shading" in the "Paragraph" group under the "Home" tab. Next, choose "No Color".
You can also try using a shortcut. If the shading is part of a style, you can remove it by pressing "Ctrl+Q" after selecting the text.
If none of these methods works, you can paste the text as unformatted. Select the target text and press "Ctrl+X" to cut it from the document. Then, click on "Paste Special" on the drop-down menu of the "Paste" option to open the same name dialogue box where you should choose "Unformatted Text". Click "OK" to paste the text without any formatting.
Please let me know if these methods work for you or if you need further assistance.
Kind regards, Segunfunmi.
