Teams files created by "add a tab" don't show up in directory / analytics?

I am using Microsoft Teams as part of Office 365.

I created a OneNote "tab" in our Teams channel. Unlike various files that were "uploaded" to Teams, this one doesn't show up in the file directory in either Teams or SharePoint. That means I can't see the (limited) analytics available in SharePoint (e.g. number of views and by who). Is that intentional? Is there a way to fix that? Without damaging links to the file, its tabs and paragraphs?

Dear Avogo,

If you mean the Notes tab in Teams, it is a team notebook and will not be showed in File. It is in the Site Assets library. You can access it via Open in SharePoint>Site contents>Site Assets to find it.

.

If you add a notebook via the OneNote tab in Teams, the notebook will be showed in Files in Teams.

.

However, the notebook type file isn't like the Word file with the Viewer feature by clicking on Details. So I'm afraid that you may have no option logging the viewer in SharePoint Online or Teams now with the notebook type file.

.

The only thing you can do is to see who modified the pages of each sections in the notebook. You can go to https://domain.sharepoint.com/sites/sitename/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?id=/sites/sitename/Shared%20Documents/notebookname to access the notebook folder to see who modified the section pages or sections. The URL in my environment is https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/TeamDemo0ABC/SiteAssets/Forms/AllItems.aspx?id=%2Fsites%2FTeamDemo0ABC%2FSiteAssets%2FTeam%20Demo%200ABC%20Notebook.

    Thanks Cliff!

I'm going to mark this "solved" even though it looks like the answer I was hoping for isn't possible. :)
