A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Hello Tom,
My name is Adebayo, thank you for getting in touch.
The absence of the down arrow to expand the font dialogue box in Word is typically encountered when using the web-based version of Word. The web version omits many features of the desktop version, including the Fonts dialog box launcher.
If you’re using the desktop version of Word and still can’t see the arrow, it might be due to a minimized Ribbon. To expand the Ribbon, you can double-click on one of the tabs, or click the Ribbon Display Options icon at the top-right corner of the Word window and select “Show Tabs and Commands.”
For quick access to the Font dialog box in the desktop version, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+D. This will open the Font dialog box where you can access all the advanced font features.
If you’re using Word on the web and need the advanced font features, you’ll need to use the desktop version of Word, which has the full range of capabilities, including the Fonts dialog box launcher
Please do let me know if further assistance is needed.
Kind regards, Adebayo.
