PowerPoint - Keep Slides Updates Option Missing?

Hi - I have linked data from Excel (saved in One Drive) to a Powerpoint Presentation (also saved in One Drive) which updates automatically as it should but I do not get the option to "Keep Updated" in Set Up Show.

Can this be added?

Powerpoint Version shows as Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise

Microsoft 365 and Office | PowerPoint | For business | Windows

    Hi Steve_Jones467,

    It seems PowerPoint is not treated as saved in SharePoint/OneDrive. In my repro, the option will show up once I save the file to SharePoint/OneDrive, even I turn off AutoSave later.

    If you save a copy of this PPT file in your OneDrive for Business library, are you able to see this option showing up again? If so, you can regard this as a quick fix of the issue.

    Hi Steve_Jones467,

    Are you looking for Inserted Excel table in PowerPoint to auto-update the data? If so, you can try do as follows.

    1. Copy the table/data range in source Excel file (Press Ctrl+C)
    2. In PowerPoint, find Paste Special in Home> Paste. Choose Paste link and Select Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object.
    3. After the table/data is pasted, arrange it as you want.

    If you want to check your linked file, go to File > Info > Edit Links to Files. Set it to Automatic Update or force it to refresh by clicking Update Now.

    Thank you for your reply. This has worked and I now have the Keep Slides Updated option available in Set Up Show.

    Unfortunately, although the link from Excel updates fine when not presenting but the linked data does not update whilst in a presentation.

    Is there a specific file type or destination you can suggest for the excel file supplying the link?
