I am a student doing consultancy work with a global automotive company. We are investigating alternative purchasing project management systems; we are keen to find out more about Microsoft Project! On completion of our consultancy, we will make recommendations to the organisation about a system and implementation. Looking forward to hearing for you.

    ISG NU --

Do your purchasing projects have a Start date and a Finish date? If yes, then the Microsoft Project desktop application MAY be a good choice, and Project for the Web might also be a good choice. Do your purchasing projects require you to keep track of project costs to the EXACT DOLLAR amount? If so, neither of these tools would work for you. The Microsoft Project desktop application is not a financial accounting system, so all costs are approximated, based on resource rates. Project for the Web does not allow any type of cost tracking in projects. Does this help? Let us know.
