How in the world does a Lotus compatibility feature impact an Excel sheet that's never (to my knowledge) been associated with Lotus?

Well, we have seen these problems from time to time here in the forum, there are programmers (mostly from AddIns) who play around with these settings... for what reason ever.

I'm glad we were able to help, thanks Rory for the good idea, I wouldn't have had it.

    Andreas.

No, I've entered a date, such as today's, 2/7/24 which turns into =2/7/24 upon pressing Enter!

A date format just means how the number in the cell should be shown, that's all. In your case you have a 0 in the cell.

    Andreas.
