Suggestions needed to install MS Access runtime version 2021 or O365

Thanks for the response.

But isn't the purpose of 'Access Runtime' to install and work where 'Access' app is not available?

The latest 'Access runtime' which is downloadable freely from the official link I mentioned in the post is freeware and has to install corresponding version based on the version of Office installed.

Quoting the first 'important note' as per the article:

• When installing the Access 365 Runtime on a machine that has another Click-to-Run version of Office installed, the Access Runtime installed will match that of the existing Office installation. For instance, if the machine has Office 2021 installed, Access 2021 Runtime will be installed.

Please let me know how do I install latest version of Access runtime either 2021 or O365?

Dear Abhi,

What you are installing is the Access 365 Runtime which works with Office 2021. So you download the right application from the right place Download and install Microsoft 365 Access Runtime - Microsoft Support.

About the name "Access Runtime 2016", it may be a known problem in naming and the related team seems to be aware of it. Sorry for the confusion. I hope that it will be fixed soon. I suggest you keep close eyes on the links MVP Karl provided for the latest updates of the problem.

Secondly, Office 2021 does not only include Office 2021 Home & Business, but also Office Professional 2021, which includes Access in this subscription:

If you still want to try to install Access 2021, you can try using the Office deployment toolto download this app:

Hello,

Can someone please confirm whether the version mentioned in the official Microsoft download link for Access runtime is the label of the product for example 2019/ 2021/ O365? Or the version mentioned in the 'Version' tab in Control panel.

Strangely the version of Access runtime in the 'Version' tab is matching with that of Office 2021 H&B version, though it is installing Access runtime version 2016 instead of 2021.

Here is the version # that I am seeing in the 'Version' tab in Control panel:

Please let me know how I can get access to latest Access runtime and not 2016 version!

First of all, it should be noted that Office 2021 Home & Business does not include the Access app, which may cause you to be unable to download Access

As a result, you may need to change your subscription to install the latest version of the Access app:
