I have already uploaded a document on Word, and it has numbers on it. The beginning of the pages doesn't have Roman numerals it starts with the number 1. Instead, I wanted roman numerals, then transition to the page that I wanted to begin with page 1. How do I do it?

You need to separate your front matter with a section break and then change the page number format. See http://wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com/FrontMatterRibbon.htm.
