    Hello Blake,

My name is Oluwatosin and I’ll be more than happy to help you with your query." This is a user-to-user community forum. We do not have access to your account.

I'm sorry to hear that your document was deleted.

Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

    1. Go to File >Info> Select Manage Document.

Choose Recover Unsaved Documents from the drop-down list.

    Open the document and save.

    1. Go to File > Open.

Select Browse, and open the location where you saved any version of the document.

Look for a file with the name "Backup of" followed by the name of the missing file or search for files with the extension ".wbk." If found open and save.

    1. Search for the following locations in your file explorer:

    C:\Users\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Word C:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word

Look for any recovered or temp files that might be your lost Word document.

    1. Search for .wbk files on your computer.

    @ Oluwatosin

In order to save time in the future, whenever you tell Mac users to do any of the impossible things you said in this reply, I will simply delete your reply as not relevant to the thread.

For today, this is your notice to either fix your reply or remove it. Consider this your notice for all future times, as well.

There is no such thing as File >Info> Select Manage Document.

None of the directories you said to find exist

The link you provided has nothing that is relevant to this question.

    Hi Blake,

Please ignore everything posted by Oluwatosin Adedoyin1. Unfortunately, the reply is completely useless.

Had you ever saved the document? Let's check. Use the Menu Bar in Word and choose File > Open Recent > More. Is the file in the list? If yes, you should be able to open the file by clicking it in the list of files.

If not, then you probably never saved the file. If the file was never saved, there is nothing to recover.
