Use the Menu Bar and choose PowerPoint > About Microsoft PowerPoint to display the information you seek. (If you are using a Mac)

In PowerPoint for Windows click the File Tab on the Ribbon. Choose Account and then click the About PowerPoint button.

    Hello Silja Sóley Birgisdóttir,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

The latest version of Microsoft PowerPoint, as of my knowledge, is part of the Microsoft Office Suite, which is Microsoft Office 2021. This version was released in October 2021.

As for Microsoft Excel, the latest version is also part of Microsoft Office 2021. It was released alongside PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications in October 2021.

When citing Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel in your paper, you can mention the specific version number (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint 2021, Microsoft Excel 2021) and the release year (2021). Additionally, you can include the publisher (Microsoft Corporation) in the citation to provide more detailed information.

Please note that software versions and release dates may change over time, so it's always a good idea to double-check the latest information from official sources or the software's official documentation.

I hope it helps! Let me know if you have any concerns.

We hope you have a nice day. Stay safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,

    Tina | Microsoft Community Moderator
