To edit files using the desktop app, you will need to have a desktop license assigned to your work account.

I suggest contacting your admin or helpdesk to request for a desktop license to be assigned to your account. They should be able to assist you with this request.

When attempting to open a Word or Excel file, a prompt appears asking you to "sign in to get started with Office." Upon trying to sign in using my Outlook email ID, I encounter an error indicating that "it seems your account lacks access to Office desktop apps."
