I have Office 2003, but need to use Excel Power Query. I would like to purchase a newer, but not the newest, version of Office. I don’t believe Office 365 supports Power Query.

Where can I buy Office 2010, 2016, or 2019. I want to be totally legal and legit.

Thank you.

So in other words... as of now, the answer to this question is... Microsoft will no longer allow the sale of ANY office software that is not subscription based? So the only possible solution for someone that does not want that kind of ridicules solution, or that wants to use 2019 (because it is already installed) is to buy from 3rd parties, which of course can lead to scams, fraud, or other potential negative consequences. But, that said, it's an all around better choice than owing Microsoft money every month for the rest of your natural born life.

    Hi,

    Hello,

It's great to hear that you are looking to purchase a legal and legitimate version of Office to use Excel Power Query. You can purchase Office 2010, 2016, or 2019 from various authorized retailers and Microsoft directly. Below are some legitimate sources to purchase these versions of Office:

    1. Microsoft Store: You can purchase Office 2016 or 2019 directly from the Microsoft Store. Go to the Microsoft Store website. Search for "Office 2016" or "Office 2019". Select the version you want to purchase and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the purchase.
    2. Authorized Retailers: You can purchase Office 2010, 2016, or 2019 from authorized retailers such as: Amazon Best Buy Staples Office Depot Make sure to verify that the seller is an authorized Microsoft reseller to ensure that you are purchasing a legitimate copy of Office.
    3. Microsoft Volume Licensing: If you are purchasing Office for an organization or multiple users, you can consider Microsoft Volume Licensing. Visit the Microsoft Volume Licensing website for more information.
    4. Office 365: Office 365 does support Power Query. You can purchase Office 365 from the Microsoft Store or Office 365 website.

Thank you so much for the fast response, and for answering my question. Unfortunately, I was not able to find the product for purchase in the Microsoft Store, Amazon, Best Buy, Staples or Office Depot.

I downloaded the free Microsoft 365, but Power Query is not available for that version, only for a subscription version.

If you, or anyone else, have other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate seeing them.

    Thank you!

Need .net 4.5 framework and edge run-time

**Note:**Power Query in Excel for Windows uses the .NET framework, but it requires version 4.7.2 or later. You can download the latest .NET Framework from here. Select the recommended version and then download the runtime. **Note:**Power Query in Excel for Windows uses Microsoft Edge WebView2 run-time. You can download Microsoft Edge WebView2 from here.

BTW,if your hardware config not very good,be careful to load power query which may need more memory.

    Hi,

i am struggling to find that as well, so I think the best option would be Third-Party Sellers Consider purchasing from reputable third-party sellers. Make sure you get a legal copy, not an OEM version or something labelled as “Professional Plus”, which is a volume license not intended for individual use.

The reason you can find it on Microsoft is that the current perpetual license version is Office 2021.
