It also happens randomly even when I’m not pressing backspace/delete.

I have this same issue, and it also happens randomly as well. This morning in the 30 minutes I have used OneNote, it has crashed at least 10 times.

My iPad is running the current iOS and OneNote is the current version. I have plenty of memory - only 17% is used.

I just restarted my device before I started using OneNote and restarted it again during the crashes.

    I deleted and reinstalled OneNote.

I do not have AutoSync turned on. I saw that somewhere else as a potential issue when there may be large notebooks involved, but I doubt any of my notebooks could be considered large.

The only thing that I have NOT done on the above list is clearing the App Cache. When I go into iPad settings and OneNote, there is no option to Clear Cache. The only option I see there is to Reset OneNote and that gives me the option to either Delete All Notebooks or to Delete Login Creditials. I have not done either of these.

Is there perhaps another way to clear the App Cache that I am not seeing?

Any other suggestions? Should I try to reset OneNote by deleting all notebooks or deleting login credentials? I would have thought that my deleting and reinstalling the app would have taken care of both of those issues.

    Hello OneNote_User_2,

I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    • Update OneNote: Make sure you have the latest version of the OneNote app installed from the App Store. Developers often release updates to fix bugs and improve stability.
    • Restart Your Device: Sometimes, simply restarting your iOS device can resolve temporary glitches or memory issues that might be causing the app to crash.
    • Clear App Cache: If the app has accumulated a lot of cache data, it might cause instability. You can try clearing the cache for the OneNote app. To do this, go to Settings > OneNote > Clear Cache.
    • Reinstall OneNote: Delete the OneNote app from your iOS device and reinstall it from the App Store. This can sometimes fix issues related to corrupted app files.
    • Check for iOS Updates: Ensure that your iOS device is running the latest version of iOS. You can check for updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

Remember to back up any important data in your OneNote notebooks before attempting troubleshooting steps that involve reinstalling or clearing app data, as these actions may result in data loss.

    Best Regards, Shalom
