Can I send a password protected link without requiring the recipient signing into Microsoft?

Hello,

I have the regular Microsoft 365 - not business and I'd like to be able to send a password protected link to folks. But I don't want them to have to sign up for Microsoft or sign into Microsoft. Other services, such as Frame.io allows me to do so - so I was just hoping I could use One Drive in that manner. Thanks!

Thanks for your help. I may not renew my subscription next year. Thank you for your honesty about the program's limitations.

Hi Joey, I am Sumit, and I will gladly assist you today. Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I am sorry, but by design, the user must sign in to his Microsoft Account if you set a password. If you set it without password, the user does not need to sign in. This is explained here:

    I hope this helps.
