My image copies onto the clipboard but does not paste

I create a document with text and a picture in it. The text pastes fine, but the image does not. It is on the clipboard with the text. I can go back and then copy the image from the document and paste it separately by itself. But it is not pasting with the copied text. Windows 11. Word 365. I have adjusted the keep formatting options. I have tried bringing the image to the front, back, in line, text wrapping. The image does not paste with the copied text. I highlight from the top of the document to the bottom. The text and image copies to the clipboard, but when pasting into an email or another document, the picture does not paste. The picture does paste to another word document. It does not paste with the text to an email or another server as a whole, but I can go back and select the picture from Word then paste it on its own just fine. Just a hassle to have to copy and paste twice to get the image to "stick".

Not to mention that it is a paid subscription and I do not own the software (grumbling from afar). Here are a few other issues that are coming up:

Hyphen is not working right - backspaces automatically on occasion

Spellcheck is not working right - does not remember the ignore options after saving, so it rechecks every grammar suggestion

Too many options under Grammar section - In my occupation I transcribe verbatim, even if that means the dictator does not use proper grammar

But the copy and paste is something that I need for my job to work to save time.

I feel your pain. I've just transferred all my software from a dying Windows 10 system to a new Windows 11 computer, and, despite setting everything the same (or at least every setting that I can find), there are still glitches. Not a happy camper.

This did not help. I can copy and paste the text to another word document, but the image does not copy and paste into an email or another server with the text. The image will copy and paste if I select the image only. The problem is that the image will not copy and paste with text.

Is the image inline or wrapped? If wrapped, it may be that it is anchored to a paragraph that is not in the text selection you copied.

    Hi WendyN,

Thank you for reaching out. My name is Leo, a user just like you. I'd be happy to help you with your concern.

May I know what changes were made that might be causing the issue? This seems to be a rare behavior since it normally should copy with the text. May I also know if you use or have installed any add-ins? Have you also checked if you still have an available update? Are you experiencing the same issue in other Office apps? For this issue, as part of the troubleshooting steps, I recommend repairing your Office. Follow the steps below:

"1. Access this link to download the Office repair tool. Link: https://aka.ms/SaRA-officeUninstallFromPC 2. Download and install it, then open to run.

Tip: The tool may take a few minutes to download and install. After completing the installation, the Uninstall Office products window will open.

    1. Select the version you want to uninstall, and then select Next.
    2. Follow through the remaining screens and when prompted, restart your computer.

After you restart your computer, the uninstall tool automatically re-opens to complete the final step of the uninstall process. Follow the remaining prompts.

    1. Select the steps for the version of Office you want to install or reinstall. Close the uninstall tool."

After you completed the steps to repair, you will need to restart your computer and try to access your Microsoft Word again. In case the issue still persists, please don't hesitate to let us know. We the community users are always here to help. Thank you!

I pulled the above steps from Official Microsoft Support website. For reference, here's the link below:

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope I provided a helpful information regarding your concern! Let me know if you have any further questions. Be safe always!

    Best Regards,

    Leo
