I am trying to create an embed code for a video stored on my One Drive personal account. While I have read through the support pages, the embed command does not appear. Clicking on *Share* does not solve the problem. The command to create sometimes appear, but is rather infrequent. Below is the screenshot. What can I do to make the embed command appear on a regular basis.

Embed option not working correctly. And the link structure also changed.

Before link structure was something like this: https://onedrive.live.com/**embed**?resid=AE90F821664B6B0A%21929&authkey=!ADAwQFECu9MXVUY

Now the link structure is something like this: https://1drv.ms/u/c/0b9da5c43481ae10/IQOi8pcUncuLQrzsbtEDbTIvAT8TebSQzalHf8n7JhQEpvE

Before we could change the "embed" word to "download" and get direct download link of the file, now in new link structure it is not possible to generate direct download link.

I'm using paid onedrive a few years without problem. But today getting the problem.

And if even we generate the embed code, the download button not working on browsers.

I have contacted microsoft support team by live chat, they are also not found how to solve the problem.

We have checked different browsers, and different ways, but the problem is same.

I'm more than sure, that it is the inline problem and should be fixed by microsoft. Even usual sharing not working correctly, when we create link to share the file, it require login to onedrive account, but permission of the link is public.

    Hello! Doc-Westin

Thank you for the reply and for coming back!

No worries. Yes, please just for now I would suggest to save the embedded code to a notepad. Also, let us know if you get the same issue after monitoring the issue.

    Thank you,

Sorry for my delay in replying.

If I upload a new video, then the "Embed" the command appears. It appears the problem begins when I go back to retrieve the embed code to insert into a blog post at a later time, is when the problem happens, the "Embed" command does not appear. Today, it seems the "Embed" command is appearing on a regular basis. It worked this morning, it is working this afternoon. It is possible it may not work tonight or tomorrow, but fingers crossed it will. I'm a little bit stumped at when it does happen.

Clicking on the "Share" button asks who you wish to share the file with, but does not display the "Embed" command. The problem does seem to affect both .mp4 and non-mp4 file extensions.

Clearing the browser cache and cookies does not seem to help.

I might need to download another browser to see if it is specific. I use Edge as my primary browser.

For the moment, I am saving the embed code to notepad as a "just-in-case" option.

    Hello! Doc-Westin

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

I understand that you’re trying to create an embed code for a video stored in your OneDrive personal account, but the embed command doesn’t consistently appear.

    Allow me to ask:

    1. Does this happen to all files extension of .MP4 and non Mp4? or just specific file extension .Mp4?
    2. Is this happening to other devices, browsers, and networks?
    3. Have you tried clearing the browser's cache and cookies?

Let’s troubleshoot this issue and find a solution:

    1. Sign in to your OneDrive account.
    2. Locate the video you want to embed and click on it to open it.
    3. Click on the "Share" button located at the top of the page.
    4. In the "Share" pane that appears, click on the "Embed" button.
    5. In the "Embed" pane that appears, customize the settings for your embedded video, such as the size and autoplay options.
    6. Once you have customized the settings, copy the embed code provided.
    7. Paste the embed code into the HTML code of your website or blog where you want the video to appear.

You can try this other steps:

    1. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, cached data can cause unexpected behavior. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies. Here’s how:
      • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete to open the “Clear browsing history” window or tab.
      • Clear the cache and cookies.
    2. Generate Embed Code: To create an embed code for your video, follow these steps:
      • Open any internet browser and go to the https://onedrive.live.com/
      • Sign in with your personal account.
      • Select the Office file (video) that you want to embed.
      • Right-click over it and choose Embed > Generate.
    3. Check Compatibility: Ensure that you’re using OneDrive for Personal (not OneDrive for Business) because the Embed option is only supported in the personal version.
      • Go to the video on OneDrive.
      • Expand the ellipsis (three dots) in the toolbar.
      • Click Embed.

Here is/are some helpful link: ✨Get embed code for video in SharePoint or OneDrive - Microsoft Community Hub - please note that this link is 2 years old.

If the "Embed" button is not appearing consistently, please try clearing your browser cache and cookies, or try using a different browser. If the issue persists, please let us know.

    Thank you,
