Conflict between MS 2019 and MS 365

Hello,

I am experiencing what seems to be a common problem when it comes to activating MS applications. In the past, I bought MS 2019, which I have a permanent license for. I then downloaded MS 365 via a subscription that I received from my school. The MS 365 has since been revoked because I am no longer a student. When I try to re-download MS 2019, I get the error message below asking me to activate 365.

To solve this problem, I have followed the instructions provided in this link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/my-office-2019-for-mac-is-suddenly-asking-me-to/bd5b20a9-e588-4af2-b9df-e5b1ed51c15f. I deleted all the applications and also went to Library and removed the .com files as per the instructions. I also removed the licenses using the license remover. This solved the problem temporarily, but this morning when I went to turn on my computer, the same problem arises.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi respected CEdward0764,

Thanks for your valuable feedback and sharing updates with us and I really appreciate your effort and your precious time doing.

And I appreciate your kind words.

Because your Office 2019 package got a latest update version 16.82 and it doesn't support on your Mac OS.

The issue is caused by **** AutoUpdate installing the wrong version of Office, what you can do is use the Help menu and choose Check for Updates. Under Automatic update, clear the check box to keep Office updated automatically. To let AutoUpdate do not install update Office into latest version.

Note: Turn off Automatic update, for your reference: Update Office for Mac automatically - Microsoft Support

You'd need to delete the wrong version Uninstall Office for Mac - Microsoft Support then again install the correct version, which is 16.78.3 which you can download from this link.

Office suite (with Teams)

I appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

Sincerely

Waqas Muhammad
