    More information:

You can insert a page number at the insertion point using the keyboard shortcut. Shift+Alt+P.

As you have noticed, the header/footer building blocks included with Word can't really be added in sequence. If you add another one, the existing one is deleted.

The solution is to explicitly edit the header, after you have added the logo. You can double-click the header area to activate the header/footer view. Click where you want your page number. For example, you can insert a tab to move the position you want or you can center-align the text, if appropriate. Insert the page number field by pressing Alt+Shift+P.

When you are done, return to the main body of the document by double-clicking it (or using the Close button in the Header & Footer tab).

    Hello Beverly,

    * I am a Microsoft user like you, providing solutions to community members; I am NOT a Microsoft employee.

Here's how to insert a page number inside a header with a logo in Microsoft Word:

    1. Double-click Header: Open your document in Microsoft Word. Double-click on the top margin of your first page to enter the header editing mode.
    2. Insert Logo: Click on the "Insert" tab. In the "Illustrations" group, click on "Pictures" and select your logo image from your computer.
    3. Position Logo: Click and drag the logo to the desired position within the header. You can resize the logo by dragging the corner handles while holding down the Shift key to maintain proportions.
    4. Insert Page Number: Click on the "Insert" tab again. In the "Text" group, click on "Page Number," then select the "Page Margins" option. The page number will probably be located outside the header position. Simply drag it where you want it to be and voila! EVery new page will include the image and the page number in the position of the first page.

    Hope this helps.
