    Thanks Cherry,

    I've attached a screenshot below. The issue is that the fields appear hidden.

    Hi,Bryan Chew1

    Thank you for your reply, which provides us with more details about the issue. We have created a new table based on the screenshot information you provided and tested it under the same conditions. The test results show that on our end, the pivot table fields are unhidden and we are able to freely select the desired fields to analyze and have not reproduced the issue you are experiencing.

    In order to further help you solve the problem, we need to know some additional information:

    1. are you experiencing this problem with a specific file, or is it the same problem with all the files you are trying?

    2. Is your version of Excel up to date? Sometimes a software update can resolve some compatibility or functionality issues.

    If the problem occurs only with a specific file, in order to protect your privacy and data security, we recommend that you send us the file via private message so that we can test your file and be more prepared to understand your problem. The private message portal is shown below:

    If the problem is with all files, we suggest you try resetting Excel to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Exit all Office programs

    2. Make sure there are no files in the following folders:

      1) Locate to C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART and press Enter to see if the file exists, if it does, please delete it, if not, close it;

      2) Locate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\XLSTART or C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\XLSTART to see if the file exists, if it does If there is a file, again please delete it, if not, close it;

    3. Press and hold the Windows key + R at the same time, type regedit and press Enter;

    4. locate the following keys in turn, rename the word folder (right click on it and select rename, e.g. rename Excel to Excelold);

    HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Excel

    HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel

    5. After performing the above actions, reopen Excel to try and view the problem.

    If you have further updates or other questions, please feel free to contact us and we will try our best to help you.

    Sincerely

    Cherry|Microsoft Technical Support Specialist

    Hi, Bryan Chew1

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

    Understanding that you are trying to fix the layout of the pivot table fields, pivot table layout issues can be caused by a number of factors, it is recommended that you either describe the issue in detail or provide a screenshot of the current interface so that we can better understand your issue.

    Until then, you can try the following steps to solve the problem:

    • Re-organize fields: Check the list of fields in the pivot table and drag and drop the required fields to the correct area (row, column, value or filter).
    • Refresh and adjust settings: Use the Refresh button in the pivot table tool to update the data, and check and adjust options such as Report Layout and Field Settings.
    • Check and Reset: Check if the data source is correct and if the problem persists, try to clear the pivot table or create a new one and apply the settings of the old one.

    Meanwhile, regarding your question, I found some related articles for you, you can set the pivot table default layout option by the content in the link, you can refer to it:
