How to stop Outlook reminders in a shared calendar from reappearing after they have been dismissed?

I share an Outlook Microsoft Exchange calendar with my wife. For the last week or so, I cannot dismiss reminders from the reminder window; within no more than about 5 seconds dismissed reminders reappear.
I have tried the three resolutions suggested at the following link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/troubleshoot/calendars/cannot-dismiss-outlook-calendar-reminders; none of these has worked. Can anyone suggest what to try next?
