Hello,

I am interested in purchasing the 1-time licence for MS office professional 2021 for personal use.

I understand that the product is only able to be used by 1 user on 1 device. As we all know, laptops and computers don't last forever so my query is:

If my laptop breaks or has to be replaced, do I have to re-purchase office and pay again?

Many thanks

    Hi All

Thanks. This was helpful. If I purchase Microsoft one-time and the device is stolen or breaks whereby we cannot deactivate the licence key and uninstall the apps, would I be able to contact support to assist or will I need to purchase again?

    Thanks.

    Ivana

    Hi Becky365!

I am Shakiru, an independent advisor and a user like you, and I am glad to be helping you out today.

No, you do not have to repurchase the Microsoft Office (1-time license) once you have tied the product key to your Microsoft account (the email and password to your Microsoft account become the new activation key).

However, you need to deactivate the Microsoft Office license key by uninstalling the Office apps from the PC that broke before installing it on the new PC and then activate the Microsoft Office using your Microsoft account login credentials (Email and password).

Please let me know how it goes and if you need any other assistance and I will be more than happy to help further.

    Thank you

    Best Regards, Shakiru

When purchasing a current MS Product as part of the purchase its associated with an MS Account, and to re-install on a new PC you access that MS Account to de-acticvate the old install & install on the new (Haveing first uninstalled any pre-installed O365 Family trial version)
