A document has suddenly begun duplicating one footnote; specifically, fn. 4 now appears 3 times in the footnotes If I delete fn, 4, then the new #4, which was previously #5, repeats 3 times.

As the screenshot shows, fn. 4 is duplicated 3 times in the footnotes. I have tried several different ways to get rid of it and can't. I have followed a couple of suggestions in the Microsoft community and I have deleted several paragraphs, including the one showing, then retyped the text, only to have the same fn. duplicate again.

    Apologies for not responding to your questions in the previous email.

    I have Windows 365, installed MS 11 last year.

    I have been writing documents like the one I attached in the previous email for seven years and have never had this problem before.
