I've done a little more digging, and here's what I've discovered...

    • 123 Reg is part of GoDaddy
    • These two companies have an arrangement with Microsoft to be able to sell their own versions of Microsoft 365.
    • Their packages have limitations or restrictions in comparison with the standard Microsoft offerings, but this enables them to undercut the prices that Microsoft is charging.
    • It seems that in migrating to a new Microsoft 365 platform, 123 Reg has joined GoDaddy in federating Microsoft 365 with its own authentication system (?) This means that when you want to sign-in to Microsoft 365 you are presented with a 123 Reg login screen and not the normal Microsoft login. (Which might explain why things were no longer getting as far as going to Microsoft Authenticator???) It is at this point -i.e. signing-in via 123 Reg's login page - that I experience the AADSTS50107 error, and can get no further.
    • So, the issue, as well as any likely resolution if 123 Reg is not able to fix the problem any time soon, seems to revolve around Federation.
    • As for options, I guess we can wait for 123 Reg in the hope that they and Microsoft can fix this, or we could request that they defederate our Microsoft 365 and help us to move to Microsoft, or we could seek expert IT assistance to do that for us.
    • From the posts of others who have been impacted that I find online, it would appear that 123 Reg's migration of Microsoft 365 to a new platform has created quite a mess and serious disruption for many users!

    Hi, thanks for the response,

So yes, i currently have a office 365 business basic account, but it is supplied via 123 reg, through my domain that is registered through 123 reg.

123 reg office 365 services is down right now and has been for days, users cannot access their office 365 emails, users get to the login page and the following error shows

    Microsoft

Sign inSorry, but we’re having trouble with signing you in.

AADSTS50107: The requested federation realm object 'sso:secureserver:urbanpods.co.uk' does not exist.

123 reg aren't helpful, they dot know how long this will take take to resolves, i currently have 35 employees not able to work, access is still fine to onedrive, but every way to try and access emails is restricted

Hi, so yes, this has been a horrible and stressful time, we were literally locked out of our business for 5 days. We were able to access email accounts through mobile devices and some computers that were still logged in and unrefreshed, our entire office was jumping around different computers that were still logged in, but slowly and surely.......... each device eventually logged out

I called 123 REG around a dozen times per day, i was told to keep an eye on the ticket system and communicate through there, which i did and never received a reply. We came into work after the 5th day and the computers were able to log in, i have to admit, i did cry.

I really hope you get this resolved, it literally cost our business a huge sum of money in unread emails, lack of responses to clients and we suffered 4 sales that we couldn't close due to being locked out

Horrible time, im just so grateful we are able to access accounts and hope you get fixed soon,

    Thanks

I have exactly the same issue (AADSTS50107 error message, etc.) logged with 123 Reg since 15 April 2024, and it remains unresolved. In my case this relates to a Microsoft 365 Business Professional subscription purchased through 123 Reg.

The situation started after 123 Reg migrated Microsoft 365 to its new platform. Since then my business has been unable to login to Microsoft apps (such as Teams) and unable to login to customer systems.

The post on 123 Reg's status page suggests they've been aware of this affecting their customers since 26 March 2024, with an update (10 April 2024???) saying they're speaking with Microsoft to resolve the matter...

All I know is that this is a serious problem to me and my business, and I'm sad to be left feeling that 123 Reg's response comes nowhere close to being commensurate with the severity and impact of the issue as felt by customers.

I'm sure all who are currently continuing to suffer the adverse affects of this incident would be grateful for any advice on options available, both in terms of redress as well as getting moved to a working platform for Microsoft 365.

Additionally O365 Personal/Family is not licensed for Bus use, you would need an O365 Bus license type of wihich there are several

Is the email acccount an exchage type? can you access it via web browser access?
