For example, i want to create a matrix with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and with size (2, 3)

so i type [\matrix(1&2&3@4&5&6)] and press ctrl+= to convert it.

but what I get is wrong, as shown following:
[■(1*&2&3@4&5&*6)]

I wonder what's going wrong, thank you!

Hi Deeksha, my name is Jiayi Luo, thank you very much for your help!

    But when i input

    \matrix(1,2,3@4,5,6)

and press Ctrl += to convert it, it still shows

    ■(1,2,3@4,5,6)

My office version is "Miscrosoft Office Professional Plus 2019". I wonder is it because of my version problem?

    This is the screenshot:

    1. input \matrix(1,2,3@4,5,6)

    1. result

    Thanks very much!

Hi, thank you for reaching out. My name is Deeksha and I'm a Microsoft user like yourself and I will try to help you as best as I can today.

To create a matrix in Microsoft Word using the Equation Editor with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 with a size of 2×3, you should use the following syntax:

Open the Equation Editor in Microsoft Word. Enter the following syntax: \matrix(1,2,3@4,5,6)

Press Ctrl + = to convert it. Here's the corrected syntax: \matrix(1,2,3@4,5,6)

    After converting it, you should get the following matrix: [ 1 2 3 4 5 6 ]

Make sure to use commas , to separate the elements within the rows and the @ symbol to separate the rows in the matrix.

Try these steps and hopefully, it resolves your issue. In case you need further help or assistance, please let us know. You can also contact Microsoft Support if the problem persists.

    Best regards Deeksha
