Hello gottaproblem365, Welcome to Microsoft Community. I realize that you want to buy Microsoft Basic 365 for daughter's account, but you failed. You and your daughter are parts of a family group. You don' t have and don't want to have a Microsoft 365 Family subscription.
I understand how you feel. Please feel free to correct me if my understanding is wrong.
I would like to notify thatyou need to go into your parent account and locate your child's account. There you need to turn off the option that says "Require approval for every purchase" Once that is turned off, the child should be able to purchase extra OneDrive space.
Hers is how to do it:
- Sign in Microsoft Family Safety with your account.
- Find your daughter's tab and click.
- Click Spending.
- Turn off Require approval for every purchase toggle.
- Try adding Microsoft Basic 365 to your daughter's account again. I hope my answer helps you. Please let me know if the result fit your expectation. I'm looking forward to your reply.Best wishes,Lucia Wu - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
