Hello,

I've been using Microsoft 365 for almost a year and one feature that I liked a lot was the option to sync the share folders to the local file explorer, this used to work with folders that I shared or was shared to me, now the current folders and new ones stops working and the Sync button disappear, Can you please tell me what's going on?

I have found the same issue of only now having web links to shared folders that previously were not internet folders and have spent HOURS trying to figure it out to no avail. From the replies it looks like a glitch and is being fixed - just annoying to have wasted soooo much time trying to solve it. Sorry to hear you are in the same situation - lets hope they fix it soon.

    Hello,

And no, I'm using a Family account, and it used to have the sync option, so I was able to integrate a shared folder with me into my local file explorer and work as if that folder was in my pc, now the only functionality I have is a shortcut that opens a tab in my internet explorer, so this disrupt my workflow.

    Hello,

And no, I'm not referring to the add shortcut button, there used to be a function called sync, that made you work with a shared folder natively in Windows 11, but now it has disappeared, here is a picture of the function I'm talking about.

The add a shortcut button only creates a shortcut to the webpage folder, while the sync one, actually creates a whole folder structure locally in the pc.

This has been here forever, and now it's gone. No notification that this was the case. Please put this back. This is massive to how I communicate and finance and plan across my family. Bring it back

    Dear Armando_GR,

This functionality you mention is entirely possible with the "Add Shortcut to My Files" button currently on the page. It creates more than just a shortcut to a web page but should be in the form of a local folder.

However, there is a recent known issue with this feature that causes the folder created by this feature to change to a web link in some accounts. If the problem happens to you, you may need to wait a while. Reference: Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on - Microsoft Community

Sorry for your inconvenience. This issue has been brought to the attention of the development team and is being actively fixed. We understand that you may need this feature urgently and will continue to monitor this issue and let you know as soon as we have an update. You can try again once it is fixed and we believe that this feature will meet your requirements.

    Best regards
