My Transition settings are correct for all slides - timings are set for After and the Apply To All box is set.The Animation pane on the first slide shows the audio and will play on all slides ONLY if I click on the slides individually. Total of 24 slides.

    Hi, janisfern

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting them in the community.

Did you set the audio to play in the background?

Then I was in the picture - toggle, set the auto toggle time, uncheck box mouse clicks

The above steps were tested and no problem was found, then if you follow the above steps, the problem still appears.

I suggest you use the recording function of PowerPoint to record an audio to try and see if the problem occurs.

I hope the above information can help you. Feel free to send a message if you need further help.

I did those steps over and over and I still have the same problem. I did try recording a song. The recorded song was so much lower in volume and the problem still remain. Could there be something wrong with my version of Powerpoint in Microsoft 365? I even uninstalled Microsoft 365 and reinstalled it? I also have Microsoft 2019 on my computer (because it has Publisher) and wondering if that could be a conflict.

    Hi, janisfern

It is possible for this to happen.

But before uninstalling and reinstalling it all, I suggest you do some routine troubleshooting:

    1. Cancel add-ons

Click on the document in the upper left corner of the file - Options - Add-ons - COM Add-ons Change Place to Manage, then select "Move", uncheck all add-ins, click OK, restart the PowerPoint and see the effect.

    1. Registry Reset Office

Press Windows + R and type regedit in the Open Run box and press Enter.

Locate the following key and rename the Office folder (right-click it and select Rename (for example, Office will be renamed Officeold)):

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office

Then open the PowerPoint again to try the effect.

Disclaimer: Registry or workgroup modifications are typically intended for power users, administrators, and IT professionals and can help resolve some issues, but incorrect modification of the registry can lead to serious problems. So, strictly follow the steps below. Make a backup of the registry before modifying it for added protection. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, see: How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support

If none of the above works, I suggest you uninstall them all and install only the 365 version:

Uninstall Office from a PC - Microsoft Support

Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 on a PC or Mac - Microsoft Support

I hope the above information can help you. Feel free to send a message if you need further help.

    Best wishes
