MS List, Content is not visible for some team members.

Hi Everyone,

I have two lists within the same SharePoint site. The primary list has the details specific to each location. The second list has a lookup back to the primary list that displays the name of the locations and relevant details relating to the financial spending over several years for each location.

Some team members (with read only access) can see the list but not see the content in the column that identifies the location name that is connected via the lookup back to the primary list.

The team members who have reported this all have read only access to the site.

How can this be resolved?

Thanks in advance.

David

    Dear David,

    Good day!!

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and please don’t worry, let’s work together on your concern and move towards a resolution path.

I understand your concern and I would like to let you know that I have tested the behavior at my end, where I noticed the users with the read access can still see the content in the Lookup Column when they have access to the source list which used in the Lookup Column.

For example, I have used the List 1 as a source list in the Lookup Column of the List 2, the users with the read permission on the List 2 but not having the access to the List 1 will not be able to see the data in the Lookup Column:

So, I request you to check whether the users who are not able to see the content in the Lookup column are having atleast the read access to the source list used in the Lookup column:

Open the source List used in the Lookup Column> Click on the Settings> List Settings> Permissions for this List> Check Permissions> Enter the user email address and click on Check Now> See whether they have any permissions.

If they have read permission but still have the same issue, I would like to confirm whether the problem happens on the specific list or all lists with the lookup columns.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia
