Why is one drive and these ridiculous notifications when we boot up our computer asking us to finish setting up window and start backing up with one drive even enabled to begin with??? They drive a person mad. There needs to be a permanant NO button. I've also uninstalled one drive countless times and somehow it keeps re-installing itself only to pester me again about backing up my computer. I am close to switching to a mac because I'm sick of this nonsense. I keep all my data on a nas with a full 3-2-1 solution in place. I do not want my data on microsoft cloud EVER.

It seems to be a new strategy that companies have a adopted in that they'll ask you to do something repeatedly without giving you an option to say "Don't ask again". You'll just get "Do this thing" with "Maybe later". It's manipulative. I've always found OneDrive really useful but this has annoyed me enough to move to a different cloud storage provider.

I'm having the same issue. I don't see any options called "stop backup" under the Manage Backup tab. I have disabled all the folder backups but still backup prompt flashes every time I login. What is the solution to fix this issues? It has started happening after the last Microsoft up[date was installed

    Thanks

No, this doesn't fix the problem. I backup other folders than these to OneDrive. Not THESE FOLDERS. While in the tray app, it literally blocks me from seeing other options because of this idiotic persistent notification. No Close icon. Why would software be designed so begrudgingly obscure only if to piss people off? With so many other issues with OneDrive and other MS apps, Im so done with native apps. This boggles my mind.

The likely has been a change to the environment, but there is no "Stop Sync" option anymore. Please provide an updated solution.

If I am right and this has been removed forcing users to be faced with a constant issue asking for OneDrive back-up I might just have to change operating systems.

I have been using another cloud storage option for many years and it is significantly superior to OneDrive/SharePoint.

Its things like this why I refuse to use Apple products. Maybe I'll need to get reacquainted with LINUX.
