Create an org chart in Visio without needing to create a new document each time

Hi,

There is plenty of information online about how to create an org chart in Visio from existing Excel data using the org chart wizard. However, the only infomation I can seem to find to open the wizard and create an org chart requires you to make a new document through file>new>Org Chart.

This is unhelpful when either a) you are trying to refresh or insert an updated version of your org chart to the document as you work on it or b) create multiple org charts within a document (eg. within multiple tabs).

Grateful for any advice if there is a way to open the wizard, or otherwise generate an org chart from excel data, without needing to create a new document each time?

Best,
Tom

You can launch the Org Chart wizard in Visio at any time by using the Import button on the Org Chart tab:

For example, that would allow you to add a page and create a new chart on that page while leaving previous pages as they were.

    Does that help?
