Images are resizing themselves to random sizes on SharePoint

Hi all,

When you add images to a SharePoint page, they tend to resize themselves despite uploading the same size image.  Please see below for example.

Family leave photo is slightly move to the bottom itself, even they've got the same sizes.

Actually, this doesn't exactly seem to be a resizing issue, but a repositioning issue.

As a temporary solution, I re-size all the photos in the same row. This way they all become fit.

    Dear respected,

After confirming with more tests, it seems like sometimes we can see the position difference with various size images. But generally uploading the same size image will keep the same position.

So for the persisting issue happening in your tenant, we sincerely recommend that you contact the Microsoft 365 admin of your organization and let them follow the steps in this article and open/create a free escalated support ticket for you to contact online support, which is included in the Microsoft 365 Enterprise subscription.

The support team there has more permission than us, they can help you remotely and collect logs to find out what exactly happened on your side. They may also involve more resources to investigate the issue from the backend. This would be the most efficient way to handle this case for you.

    Best Regards,

    Mia

    Hi Mia,

    To answer your questions:

    1. This is across which I believe are called subsites? I have pasted the links below to show examples of the sites/subsites this is happening on (and used XXX for security reasons):

    https://XXX.sharepoint.com/sites/managerscorner
    https://XXX.sharepoint.com/sites/XXXLanding

    1. I can confirm this happens to multiple users.

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards,

    Kate

    Dear respected,

Good day! Thanks for posting in our community.

We went through your post carefully and we understand there have some automatic image resizing feature in SharePoint. To offer you the correct guide to resolve this, could you please share us some more details as troubleshooting steps below?

    1. If the same behavior will happen on various sites or just a specific page? More easily, create a new site as a quick test to see if it will reproduce with the same images.
    2. Please ask other users to check if the same behavior will happen on their sides.

We appreciate your kind patience and understanding that sometime the initial reply may not resolve the concern immediately or there may have some misunderstanding about your scenario, but we would like to hear the updates from your side and let's figure out the further suggestions.

We'll be here for you to wait for your updates. I appreciate your time and effort on checking these above and thank you for your time and cooperation. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Mia | Microsoft Community Moderator
