Hi,

I have purchased copilot pro for my home setup through my personal account. I can not see copilot in office 365 desktop apps. I tried "update licence", it didnt work.

I also uninstall and reinstall office 365 suite but still does not work.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Akshay

As of now, Copilot Pro works only with web app of Excel. Not with desktop app. Frustrating reality.

    Hello Akshay,

Thank you for reaching out to this forum. As a fellow Microsoft user, I'm here and ready to help you out today.

I understand your concern as the Copilot pro is not enabled in Office 365 apps after subscription. Could you please make sure you have logged in right account which you have used to purchase the subscription?

    Kindly try below workarounds,

Step 1 - Ensure you're using the correct account Step 2 - Make sure that the current file is saved in that account. If you have multiple file locations available to you - such as your business OneDrive and your personal OneDrive - Copilot will only appear if the file you have open is saved to the location associated to your Copilot subscription. Step 3 - Refresh your license

In any Microsoft 365 app, go to File > Account.

    Select Update License.

Close and restart all Microsoft 365 apps you might have open so that the license refresh can take effect.

Now try to repair office and give a try,

    1. Close all office apps and sign out of the account
    2. Clear browser cache and cookies
    3. Do a safe reboot. You can start Safe Mode using the F8 key during start up.
    4. Remove the credential details of the personal account from "Credential manager". Go to: Control Panel\User Accounts\Credential Manager
    5. Try to an online repair. Go to Control Panel /> Under Programs, click Uninstall a Program /> spot Microsoft Office, right-click on it and select Change. Go with Quick Repair or Online Repair accordingly to fix the problem

Thanks Ravikumar, yes for sure. I have a subscription and my day 3 of subscription but not able to use it. After reinstalling and repair, I am able to see copilot icon (only in word, though) only from the customised ribbon menu. Even though, it shows ticked in ribbon customisation, it does not show next to the editor icon.

    Thanks

    Akshay

    Hello Akshay,

Copilot Pro doesn't need to be installed, you just need to have the appropriate subscriptions to enable it. To use Copilot Pro with your Microsoft 365 apps, you need a Copilot Pro subscription and either a Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal subscription.

    1. Browse to the Microsoft account Services and subscriptions page. https://account.microsoft.com/services
    2. Sign in with your account and verify that both the Microsoft 365 and Copilot Pro subscriptions are listed.

Please ensure that you are signed in to the account that has both of these licenses. Additional details in below link - https://support.microsoft.com/topic/40a622db-6d25-4266-b008-4bbcb55cf52f

    Thanks, Ravi

    Hi Ravikumar,

    Thanks for the detailed instructions.

I have applied all the steps outlined above multiple times but it still does not work. I have only one account. What changes I am expecting to see in Office docs (word, excel, and others) that shows my copilot pro is running.

    Thanks,

    Akshay
