Can't get "0" ID # for top row summary task in MS Project.

What I need is getting a "0" ID # for the top level Summary Task. When I insert a new task bar, it will always provide "1" ID #. Is there something in the settings that will fix this? I have MS Project Prof., 2016 & win 10 operating system.

Thanks,

jksjimR

jksjimR,

You mean like this?

If so, check the option to show the Project Summary Task

    jksjimR,

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback. I sometimes get caught also (i.e. miss the obvious).

    John,

Thanks for your response. You are right, the Project Summary task wasn't checked off. Small items often overlooked will cause headaches.

    Regards,
