MS Lists is changing dates AFTER they are selected from the calendar

I use Lists to record information from across our institution and recently created a new List to record a department's specific updates, which obviously importantly relies on the accurate recording of dates.

I originally had issues in other Lists with dates being recorded in the US format, as we use the UK date format but I found an article for forcing Lists to change from the US date format to UK date format: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/ms-lists-unable-to-change-the-date-format-from/3ce4834a-f54a-41a1-9b07-fd96fb9bc84f

Today I added a new item to the List but the date format is now being weird. As per following the instructions in the article above, my OneDrive setting is set to the reginal setting of "English (United Kingdom)".

But this issue now happens when entering the date, whether in Grid View or not:

1

2

3

4 I WILL NOW SELECT 5 JULY 2024

5

Once selected, the date INSTANTLY flips the day and month with no notice of an error message or recognising there is an issue.

    Dear Neil,

    Good day!!

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and please don’t worry, let’s work together on your concern and move towards a resolution path.

I understand your concern and I would like to convey that I have tested the behavior at my end, where I am not able to reproduce the same problem when I try to enter the date either in the Grid View or List Form when the regional setting is United Kingdom.

In this situation, I would like to confirm whether the same problem happens in the InPrivate or Incognito window of the browser.

If the same problem persists, I would like to convey that following information which will help us to better understand and guide you further:

    1. Does the problem happen when you turn off the Friendly Format in your Date Settings of the List? Click on the Date column of the List> Column Settings> Edit> Uncheck Friendly Format> Click on Save.
    2. If you create a new Date and time column in the problematic List, do you encounter the same issue?
    3. Does the problem happen with the specific List or all Lists in the Microsoft Lists?
    4. If you directly choose the date instead of entering manually, do you encounter the same problem?

Our sincere apologies for not resolving the problem in the first reply but answers to above queries will help us to better understand your situation and guide you in the right direction.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia
