How to share a new news post to all of my sharepoint site followers/members via email?

I'd like to be able to email all of my SharePoint site members/followers whenever I post a new "News Post" that lets them know to check out the site for the new info.

I've tried to use both the "Send To" and "Promote" buttons to send emails but I don't think any of the emails have gone out. First I tried to send it to all the site members by using the group name and it let me input it and hit "send" but I don't think anything went out. I tested it a second time by using just my email and I still did not receive anything.

Do these "send to" and "promote" buttons not work? And if no, is there another way to mass email all the SharePoint site members?

    Hi Neha,

I used the "Send as email" option to share 2 news posts which successfully delivered into the inboxes of my colleagues on 01/07/2024. I've asked some colleagues to check if the emails are in their inboxes today 17/07/24, which they have confirm they are not. Why would this email disappear from their Outlook inboxes?

Simple solution would be to send the email to yourself and forward it to a distribution list-either by using a rule, or manually. A more complex option would be to use a Flow/power automate but I don't think the "filecontent" dynamic content will work in this context. For the email body, I'd open the html editor and insert the appropriate dynamic content elements "title, link, image, description etc" into the html. A table works best for an email. I'd share an example but PA is down right now.

    Hi Neha,

I'm having a similar issue. We have a monthly newsletter and in place of having to rebuild the email in another application and send it out through Outlook, I'd like to be able to automatically distribute the newsletter to site members.

I've been trying to do this using PowerAutomate. The premise is that once a newsletter file is placed into a specific folder (we'll call this my distribution folder) the content is automatically emailed to members of the site. To accomplish this, I setup the following flow:

The flow is working. However, the content isn't appearing in the email. I've provided a screenshot of what I'm seeing:

    Can you assist?

    Thanks!

    Dear Carrie,

Whether you select Send to>Email or Promote>Email, in both the cases it will send an email to the recipient. If you type a Microsoft 365 group name in Send To: field, the members will receive the email in the group inbox and if you type an individual’s email address, the recipient will receive the email in their personal inbox.

As you mentioned, you have tried both the above options and neither worked may I know if you see any email in your Sent items of your Outlook?

Besides, may I know if you have tried sharing the page/news from Page library? For this, go to Site Contents, click Site Pages, select the page that you wish to share, click Share or Copy link on the ribbon to share the page. Please note, “Anyone” option will be greyed out as pages are not allowed to be shared with anonymous permission.

Important: Recipients of the page can view only the content or web part which they have access to.  For example, if you have added a document library webpart to the site page, the said web part will not appear to the Recipient if they don’t have access to the library explicitly, instead they will see a blank space at that place.

If you need any help, let me know.

    Regards,

    Neha
