Hi,

Currently I'm having Microsoft 365 Business Basic license. I need to use some of the Premium feature (Populate a Microsoft Word Template) in Power Automate, I would like to know can I upgrade my current license to get to use the Power Automate Premium features? If so, which license should I upgrade? or I have to get a standalone license for Power Automate?

Regards,

Jackson

Hello Jackson! Let’s dive into the world of Power Automate and explore your licensing options.

  1. Microsoft 365 Business Basic License:
    • Your current license, the Microsoft 365 Business Basic, provides access to standard connectors in Power Automate.
    • However, if you’re eyeing those Premium features, you’ll need to consider an upgrade.
  2. Power Automate Premium License:
    • Microsoft recommends that most organizations buy the Power Automate Premium license for every user. This license enables you to:
      • Automate modern applications via API-based digital process automation (cloud flows).
      • Work with legacy applications using UI-based robotic process automation (desktop flows) in attended mode.
      • Access premium connectors for seamless integration.
      • Foster an automation culture within your organization.
      • It’s also essential for RPA developers who build and manage desktop flows on the Power Automate portal.
  3. Process License:
    • If you have specific core enterprise process automations (typically automated back-end activities), consider the Power Automate Process license.
    • These processes are usually not run manually by a person. Examples include invoice processing or HR onboarding—essential for normal business operations.
    • These processes can vary in size and complexity, from small-scale initiatives to large-scale endeavors with interconnected flows.
  4. Hosted RPA Add-On:
    • If you want to build, test, and run your desktop flow automation with zero infrastructure, consider the Power Automate Hosted RPA add-on.
    • It’s particularly useful for unattended automation by machines.
  5. Upgrade Options:
    • To upgrade your current license, follow these steps:
      • Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
      • Go to Marketplace > All products.
      • Search for “Power Automate” to find relevant plans.
      • Select the plan you want to buy and provide the necessary details.
      • Voilà! You’re ready to explore those premium features.

Remember, whether you’re automating processes, building flows, or diving into RPA, there’s a license to suit your needs. Happy automating, Jackson!

Looks like an AI generated reply that failed the grasp the essence of the question.
